CZ was hired to straighten out a project that was a year behind schedule, over budget and lacking on site management. 			<description>A sweatheart of a country home on some of the nicest land Ludlow has to offer. This gem of a cedar sided saltbox needed some serious TLC. We acquired the property November of 2004 and immediatly began a tranformation that will amaze anyone who had ever seen the home prior. A complete face lift included; rejuvinated and enhanced exterior including a new farmers porch and front entry. We have torn off the fortress-like deck railing system. We added another bedroom, family room, laundry and bathroom on the lower level. The kitchen gets a new lease on life.  The house was repainted and carpeted. Our plan is to re-sell this home with approximatly three gorgeous meadowed acres and beautiful views of Okemo. </description>

			<description>Simply put this gut renovation was by far the most extensive renovation ever completed at any condominium at Okemo. Like almost all of the condominium projects built on Okemo, Trailside has its share of fundamental problems. Mold, insulation, water infiltration and heating lead the list.  We were tasked with gutting the unit right to the studs, The original design of most Trailside units included a small galley kitchen with a wall that closes down the space. Working with our structural engineer we were able to add structural elements that enabled us to remove the wall and really open up the space. The expanded gourmet kitchen now features a 42” counter depth refrigerator, double ovens, 6 burner cook top and two dishwashers with a breakfast bar that can seat four comfortably. We replaced the tiny firebox with a new wood burning unit and added a two-story stone wall that also housed a built-in cabinet for the stereo system and a flat screen TV. This family did not need a bath tub downstairs, so did away with that and added a custom 5’ shower with bench. Radiant heat was added on the first and top floors, and in order to accommodate all of these modifications, we upgraded the electrical service to 200amp. The master bathroom also desperately needed to be updated. Once again, that oversized jetted tub was an icon that was never going to be used. In it place is now a top-of-the-line infinity soaking tub with chromatherapy is set into onyx and a 6’ custom shower with the most magnificent tile work we have ever had the privilege to execute. Working with solid bronze tiles, tumbled marble mosaics, honed marble and travertine, our craftsman custom cut over 180 individual tile patterns – that is amazing! Did we mention that this was all done within 5 months?</description>

			<description>One of the things we like doing the most is working with clients to get the maximum value from a project. Here the client did not want to do a complete overhaul of the unit, rather they wanted to make some dramatic changes without spending any more that they needed.  We developed a scope of work that include; replace the kitchen counters but not the cabinets, replace the tired appliances, make some key lighting changes, blow out the master bathroom and update the powder room. The tile in the hall/kitchen and mud room was replaced with a very nice &amp; very reasonably priced porcelain that looks and feels like stone. We also did our very popular mud room transformation, cubbies and benches giving everyone room to boot-up in the morning.  Perhaps the most dramatic component of the project was the fireplace. Our clients taste runs toward the contemporary, we developed a design that incorporated a &quot;V tile&quot; rather than stone. We located a new hearth that complemented the tile and the clients current decor. As a nod to the Vermont thing, we searched for months to locate the perfect mantle. A beam the was reclaimed from a woolen mill was sourced, it had the right combination of detail and hand hewn character we were looking for, the result is stunning.</description>

We were able to utilize the original exterior sheathing and floor boards. Oue craftsman reclaimed these materials and made doors, cabinets and railing systems.</description>

			<description>Although our clients were very excited about living directly on the mountain slopes, they were less enthusiastic about the quality of the interior finishes of their new home. When the Solitude Village complex was built, the emphasis was on speed and cost containment. As values haves increased significantly, our clients wanted the finishes to be upgraded to reflect their needs and lifestyle.  Consequently, our clients asked us to completely clear out the dated and generic elements and design an entirely new look for the home that incorporates earthy elements that are indigenous to Vermont.  We have redesigned the kitchen to be more welcoming for entertaining and functional with children; as well as built-ins for the dining area that provide storage, benches, wine cooler and even a spot for the prerequisite fax machine!  We have completely redesigned the master bath, removing the jetted tub and minuscule corner shower, replacing it with a walk-in shower with multiple water systems.  Weâ€™ll create a fresh, clean look that brings the streams inside with Carerra pebble floor tiles.  Weâ€™ve updated all bathroom lighting from fluorescents to recessed and sconces, as well as adding additional lighting for more function and design ascetics.  Audio systems, upgraded surfaces and textured paint will complete this condo and bring it into the 21st century.  </description>

			<description>The client at this slopeside residence had leased the unit for several years. As a result they had a fairly good idea of what they wanted and needed to be done. This remodel is a very good example of how much can be accomplished without completely gutting a unit. The kitchen and baths were dated and needed to go. The original layout in the kitchen was cramped and was not condusive to an entertaining lifestyle that our clients wanted. We were able to open up the space witout getting involved in costly structural modifications. The master baths at Solitude have enormous soaking tubs that most families never use and are suseptable to freeze-ups. Today couples are looking for larger showers with amenities like steam, benches and multiple water sources. Our design team came up with gorgious design that exceeded our clients hopes. </description>
